No, building a structure is not as easy as choosing a site and then start building over it. Construction of anything entails making sure that the soil or land will not crack or slide down once the structure is finished.
This is where soil stabilisation comes in. Soil stabilisation is the process of using certain chemicals and methods to ensure that the soil will be able to accommodate heavy structures.

Soil stabilisation is extremely important, especially nowadays. Long ago, people can look for the best soil and build a structure over it. Nowadays, the best soils already have structures over them, but people still need to expand, which is why we have no choice but to build over soils even if they are not stable enough.

Without soil stabilisation, the places where structures are built can slide down over time. This will cause cracks on the structures and then the building will be deemed unsafe. This will become a big lost to the company who had it built.

Soils that were not stabilised can also be very dangerous. Whenever heavy rain pours down, it makes soil softer which makes it less stable. If the soil did not go through the stabilisation process, it can slide down and put the people inside the building in danger.

Soil stabilisation has a lot of benefits. Probably the biggest benefit is that it allows a safer place for structures to be built over, which extends to the safety of the people using the building.

Soil stabilisation also provides roads with higher resistance values. This means the road won’t crack easily. Not only is this safer for people, but it also allows savings for the government in terms of road repair.

Another advantage of soil stabilisation is that provides “all-weather” access into and within projects. Some construction projects are difficult to access, especially by heavy-duty trucks which is essential in making these projects possible. By using road stabilisation techniques, it’s easier for heavy trucks to go in and out of construction areas.
